6 WHOLE months

That's HALF a year, my friends.

6 months ago today, Josh and I were married. I always promised myself I wouldn't be one of those "obsessed with being married types", but come on, 6 months!

Amid the trails that Josh and I have had to face over the last 6 months, we have continued to stay married, and actually still love each other. Probably even more than the day we got married, believe it or not.

Things I have gotten used to since being married:

  • Laundry, laundry and MORE laundry
  • Cooking. I didn't know I had so much culinary talent....neither did Josh, and if he did, he probably wouldn't have married me!
  • Sleeping with someone in your bed, and someone who you can kick in the middle of the night
  • Always having someone to come home to, or being someones someone to come home to ( I like this one)
  • Ice Cream before bed, but not alone
  • Shopping at Home Depot, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Target, all with gift cards - in fact, I think we STILL have some
  • Grocery shopping....ick!
  • Having someones shoulder to cry on. Even if he doesn't know why
  • AWESOME in-laws!
I am really thankful to be married to Josh. I love him so much, and am so grateful for him, and the things he does for me. I can't imagine my life without him.

Roughin' It

I'm off to Girls Camp this week....

I am actually really excited! We have great girls, and they are all a lot of fun!

I am sure I will return with a few mosquito bites, and lots of fun stories and pictures.

In fact, getting ready to go has made me think of my years at Girls Camp. I don't think there is one bad memory from camp. We always had SO much fun.

My favorite story though, has to do with my mom. She was in the Stake YW when I was about 16. She was going around visiting each wards Testimony meeting, so she came to ours last. She came and sat down in a lawn chair while the spirit was so strong. Just as she sat down, her chair folded up, with her in it, and boy did she scream!

At that moment, I was so happy that she was my mom. She always had such a great spirit with her, regardless if she was listening to our testimonies, or rolling down the hill in a lawn chair.

I hope that this year at Girls Camp I can be as good of leader, as my mom was. Wish me luck!

My head hurts

I have a headache. That has lasted for 3 days! What is the deal?

Maybe it is swine flu, or maybe it's just because I am Vitamin D deficient because all this blasted rain.

Either way, I am heading home to load up on the Advil, and try to talk my husband out of buying a new boat.

I guess if it keeps raining, an extra boat laying around won't be such a bad idea....

Another milestone down

A year ago yesterday, I found out my life was going to dramatically change.

I don't have the words to express, but Keli does. I am so thankful for my sisters and brother.

EscarGO!

I have snails.

I HATE snails. I would like to know a snails purpose in life, beside making mine a living Hell.

They are slimy, basically homeless, leave a trail where ever they go, and not the good kind like Hansel and Gretel, and they eat my plants. My peas are destroyed, and my Dahlia's are next on their list.

A few have taken flight over the fence into the College boy's yard, one went for a ride on Carl's windshield, three have found their untimely deaths by table salt, and a couple have had the pleasure of seeing the bottom of my shoe.

I can't believe people actually eat these things. I want to eat one, just to feel it's bones crush through my teeth.

*ok, really I am lying, I don't want to eat one, and do nails actually have bones???

Thank goodness my husband can fix things

Our toilet is broken. It wasn't because of either of us. I swear.

The pump thingy (yes, this is a technical term) broke, so after you flush, the tank won't fill up with water. So, this is what we have had to use:

It takes about six refills to finally fill the thing up.

Estes Park, CO

What a spectacular place! Honestly, the scenery was completely breathtaking!

We had such a fun time at the Quincy Family Reunion. We packed in about as much as possible in the 4 days we were there. Lots of playing with Sophie and Tessa, lots of catching up and chatting, lots of EATING, of course, and lots and lots of fun!

We hiked, kayaked, went sightseeing in Rocky Mountain National Park, swam, ate, bbq-ed, napped, mini golfed, go-karted, and even threw in a little shopping, without the boys, of course.

Thanks to Sophie (and possibly James) there was no sleeping in to be had, so our days started off early, and ended early because of complete exhaustion.

We took LOTS of pictures, well, Jessica took lots of pictures, and we even got a few family pictures in without TOO much complaining. I even got a photo of Josh and I that is NOT from our wedding!

We sadly said goodbye, especially to our Houston-ites who we won't see until they have their bundles of Joy in the winter. Others we should see before then, and some we will see very shortly. Anyhow, I can't wait to see you all again! Thanks for such a wonderful time!
