Meg Q, the artist

I took an art class. Yes, I know, ME?

Some background. I have NO artistic ability. I mean, seriously, I couldn't draw a non-stick figured person if my life depended on it. Really, ask any kid who has ever asked me to draw something for them. They turn out terrible.

I have a really good friend at work who is an amazing artist. She does it all. Paints, draws, oils, watercolors, chalk, you name it. So, she talked me into going to her art class with her. I was terrified. Seriously, sweaty palms, racing heartbeat, all of it.
Turns out, with some determination, and a REALLY great teacher, I can do it! (Well, sort of) This is my masterpiece.

The top is the photograph, then the sketch, which I did, and then the watercolor painting.
The best part of the whole thing, since I was a new person in class, I got the teachers original painting. According to my friend, is worth some Dough. I feel so.....cultured! :)

We have Babies!

Well, not me, but everyone I know! :)

First, Jenny and James (Josh's sister and hubby) had little Dean Thomas Kendall last week. He is so sweet. Too bad they live in Houston, so we don't get to see him for a little while.

Second, Adam & Summer Wilson (Josh's cousins) had a beautiful baby boy yesterday. Grant Thomas Wilson was born last night, weighing in at 6lbs 11oz. He weighs almost as much as his baby sister who is 5 months!

Third, Jason and Nicole Quincy are expecting a little girl almost any day, it sounds like. Wish she would hurry, because the sooner she comes, the more chances we have of seeing them at Christmas!

It is so fun to be able to be around all these babies. I love to think that they are so perfect, and have just come here from Heaven. I can't wait for my babies to come straight from their Nunn's arms to me. :)

The Pink/Brown Quilt Top

I don't know how well you can see it, but this is my latest project. A baby quilt, no everybody, not for me.... :)

It's pink and brown, and boy do I have a lot of ideas for this one! As soon as it is finished, I will take a better picture.
I love love love it!
