This is the reason he married me, though

Josh and I have been doing a lot of skiing lately (duh) This was the conversation we had Saturday night after we got home from a weekend at Utah Lake.

Josh: (While watching the above video) Man, I look terrible! (About a 30 second pause) Oh, that's because it's you!

I know he loves me, even though I am a terrible water skier. :)

Below is the real video of Josh, and he ISN'T terrible.

Bullets!

K, here are a few things that are new with me. Since I am rushed for time, you get Bullets! My favorite things.

  • Have had a crappy rental car for two weeks. I have never appreciated my car more
  • Lost a very good friend to a layoff. Dang economy
  • Took the Young Women water skiing. Had a BLAST!
  • Mistook the rental car for a rally car, and tried to take a corner too fast, with the YW in the backseat! Don't worry, I told them to never do anything like that! :)
  • Spend a glorious Sunday at the Quincy's cabin and rode the Honda Passport. I want a scooter
  • Took the dirt rode home from the cabin. I was having flashbacks of the Ibapah Pony Express Route trip, but this dirt road only lasted about 10 miles.
  • Found out some disheartening news about a friend who has Cancer. I HATE cancer!
  • Spent a lot of time with Family the last couple weeks. It was heaven. I miss you all already
  • Spent a lot of time at The Gathering Place for two weddings in two weeks
  • Got the privilege to attend a sealing in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple

It has been a busy last couple weeks. A girl I work with said today, "I wish I was on an extended vacation." Amen. I wish I was too!

Happy Birthday, Sister!

Happy Birthday to my sister, Keli!

I miss you so much already!

I love my sister Keli because:

  • she always has a way to make me laugh, even during the roughest and toughest of times
  • she is a fabulous shopping partner
  • she drives a minivan, and totally owns up to it
  • she isn't afraid of what other people think of her
  • she is always up for an adventure with me
  • she is a GREAT mom, and wonderful wife
  • she makes killer chocolate chip cookies
  • plus many many other reasons

I don't love that my sister Keli:

  • Lives so damn far away

I am so lucky to have such a wonderful sister and friend. She has always been one of the biggest influences in my life. She has taught me a lot, doesn't judge me, always has a good explanation, and always sticks up for me. Thanks for being such a great big sis! Love you tons!

It's been a while....

It has been a REALLY long time, I know... Things have been crazy at the Quincy house.

We hit the big year mark, July 26. I can't believe it has been a whole year. I know I have said this before, but it seems like just yesterday, and a lifetime all at the same time. I sure do miss her a lot, though. We spent the day mostly with the Quincy's, but we did also go over to the cemetery. The flowers we planted on Mother's Day are flourishing, and I am so glad! They look so great! We also stopped by my Dad's to say hi. All in all, it was a nice day. I think I made it harder on myself than I should have, but I guess I am entitled to one of those, aren't I? :)

We have been water skiing A LOT, and we have been having a great time. Josh had some family in town a couple weekends ago, so we loaded the boat up with about 13 of us, and had a blast!! Everyone got to do something, either, surf, tube, ski or just swim. It was so fun being able to have so many loved ones on our boat. We love our new boat for that very reason!

Thursday was my work Lagoon party. It as a great time. Keli and Sean and the girls, plus a few extra came along. Mckinley is by far the bravest! She went on almost every ride! It was her first time on the Rocket, and she had to hold my hand. I hated every minute of it! :) I sure love spending time with my family!!

Saturday, we got the boat out again, and got loads of people again! This time Keli and Sean and their family and some friends joined us. Again, it is so fun to be able to spend time with our families on the boat. We met up with Josh's uncle, so Keli, Maggie, Emma and I swam over so we could do some tubing, and the cousins could do some surfing with Josh. Maggie was so brave, and wanted to go on the tube, but ONLY with her Aunt Mimi!! Again, I hated every minute of it!

Today is a big day for my dad and Noma. They are exchanging their vows tonight, and come 7pm they will officially be married. Again, it is amazing how much has changed in such a short time. I am glad they are happy, and I wish them the best!
