I'm getting so big!

I can't believe how old Elliott is getting.  I swear just yesterday she was a brand new baby.  She really likes to sit up at the counter (safe, I know) and help mom with dinner, dishes, or whatever.  She really likes to play in the sink, which has become a very bad habit...  This girl LOVES the water.  We are so proud. :)  She loves the sink, the bathtub, the hose, the pool outside or anything else that contains water.  We took her to the ski lake for the first time this year last weekend, and she was immediately neck deep in the water.  I am going to have to keep an eye on this girl!

OK moms, I need advice.  Elliott is not a good eater.  I realize most Toddlers are not.  Mealtimes totally stress me out.  I hate making dinner anyway, but now I feel like I have to try to figure out things she will eat and want to eat, which makes dinner even worse!  So, let me know if your Toddlers were picky eaters, and HOW you made it through.  I have recently done a bunch a research, and have realized the amount of food they need is really much smaller than expected.  That makes me feel better, but the days she only eats Goldfish crackers and Gogurt makes me crazy!  She is drinking no more than 16 ounces of milk a day, so I know she isn't filling up on that. And, she is still on a bottle (I know, it is time to take it away) because some days I feel that is the only nutrition she is getting!  Anyway, let me know if you had the same problem.  It would be nice to know I am not alone. :)

Josh bought this new beauty last week.  He has decided he wants a FUN car, not just something to get from here to there.  It is a 1991, and he had to basically put the thing together, so the fun car didn't come too expensive.  It is actually a really fun car to drive, and a convertible is always fun, so I think the objective was met.  I do still think it is totally a chick car. :)

  1. She sounds so much like Sydney in so many ways! She figured out pretty quick how to push a chair to the counter and climb up. She finally stopped when she walked backwards off the counter and fell down on the floor just after Logan was born. Definitely have to watch these daring Quincy babies.
Sydney was very similar in food too. For a while all she wanted was dry cereal. I just left little snack containers out so if she was hungry, she could just munch. They just go through phases. I just kept giving her simple, easy foods. Mac n cheese cups, pretzels, string cheese, fruit snacks, Eggo waffles(the little cinnamon french toast ones). I didn't even care if it was very healthy. I just wanted something in her. We still battle it out at times, but I figure at least I'm offering. Oh, we also started adding a little bit of a packet of Instant Breakfast to her milk to bulk up the nutritional value a bit. Good luck!

  2. She really seems to be thriving! I'd say the old "relax and don't worry, she'll eat when she's hungry" line, but I do the same thing when I try to feed her.

  3. Meg, I have a feeling Jamison is going to be the same way with food! You'll have to let me know all the good advice you glean from others!

  4. My kids have been through phases where they won't eat what I want them to, but not really where they won't eat at all. Or maybe I never really noticed because they have always been so "built." Really, I don't think it's a big deal if she keeps growing. She probably doesn't need as much food as you think. On the other side, I think my little tanks may eat too much and now I have to make sure they don't get over weight! Anyway, your issue with Elliott is a very common one among my friends who are mothers. One in particular uses power bars. From some reason her boys like them and they are so high in calories she just always keeps them around and gets them to eat a couple bites a day so they don't starve. She is also way lax about what they eat, because she has to be or they won't eat anything. Ya know potato chips for dinner, ice cream for breakfast, as long as it's food! Good luck!! try not to worry I am sure she is fine. I can't believe how big she looks in those pictures! OH and it is a girl car... but Josh can pull it off. :)
