Elliott's First Bike

Our little Elliott got her first bike.  I am so proud.  Too bad she is too small to reach the pedals, but that doesn't stop her from enjoying it.  Apparently it is the perfect place to watch Elmo.  She even sits there naked, she doesn't care.  She also likes to push her bike up and down the hall, ramming everything in sight. I'm sure our walls (and dad) are happy about that.

She is FINALLY learning how to eat.  She is pretty good at tasting things now.  I'm really hoping this isn't a phase.  She actually ate a chicken nugget the other night.  That was a milestone, considering her diet has consisted of Oatmeal, Yogurt, Mashed Potatoes and Toast for the last ... well, most of her solid food eating life.  I think she looks so big in this photo.  She is starting to look like a little girl, and not so much baby.  I LOVE IT!  Babies are scary.

Josh's race went well, beside major cramping and cold temps.  His buddy has big plans for next year, but I think Josh isn't convinced yet. :)  He is too preoccupied with water skiing season, which is quickly approaching.  We leave for Lake Mead a week from Wednesday.  So excited for this year!  Elliott is much bigger and less scary.  Remember, babies are scary.

I'm still extremely busy at work, and try not get too overwhelmed with work, home, family and other things.  Story of every Mother's life, right?

San Diego, Easter and Adventuring

Josh and I decided it was time for a vacation, and after much deliberation, we decided on San Diego, CA. We also decided to leave Elliott home with Grandma! We had a really great time. We spent a lot of time on the beach, surfing, riding bikes around Coronado, and going to the San Diego Zoo. We had a really great time, and Elliott didn't even know we were gone. She was great, and Grandma is the best for always being so willing to watch her!

Easter was a fun weekend. Saturday we went to my dad's for an Easter Egg Hunt, and Elliott caught on very quickly. She also caught on very quickly to what was inside the plastic eggs. By Sunday's Easter Egg Hunt, she had figured out the quicker she could find the eggs and get them open, the slower mom was to realizing she had a whole egg-full of jellybeans in her mouth! Thanks to the Noorda's (TROY) she ate a dozen jelly beans! :) She loved it, and now begs for any candy in sight.

She is going through a fun phase. Hard, but fun. She is into everything. Wants everything, and needs constant attention. This makes my days working at home difficult, but we make it through. I am sure this is only the beginning! She loves outside, and begs to go out whenever she can. She will take your hand and lead you to the door. She will also go get her shoes (still the black velvet shoes) and her jacket so we know it is time to go out. She really likes to play in dads truck, and the dirty Civic. and likes to play in the neighbors rocks (and eat them!) She loves her swings and sandbox, but mostly the neighbors outside toys. The poor girl, I have got to get her a Cozy Coupe. She loves them!

As I am typing this, Josh is taking part in the Moab Adventure Xstream 12 Hour. It is a Kayak, Mountain Bike, Trail Run, Rappel, Trail Run again and Mountain Bike to the finish race. Unfortunately Elliott and I are at home waiting for updates from a friend. Hotels are hard to come by when there is such an event. We are so proud of our cool dad. :)

This better not be a teaser

I know we all love the Spring weather, but I REALLY love the Spring weather! I have come to absolutely hate winter, and this year was no different. Why do we still in live in Utah???

On a happier note, things around here are great! Elliott seems to be growing...finally, and WALKING. She is almost running! She is still a very picky eater. This picky eater thing is so weird. I don't know where she got it from. Josh and I will eat just about anything. In fact, we do, almost every night when I make dinner. :)

Speaking of dinner, I tried my hand at some Nasi the other night. It is a Dutch dish my mom used to make. It takes a weird Asian sweet soy sauce (Dutch, Asian Soy Sauce, I know) which I had to find at the scary Asian market in Sunset. The dish takes 5 onions. 5 Onions, really? I don't think my house will ever smell the same. In fact, it kinda smells like the scary Asian market in Sunset...

Josh put in a heater in our boat. (remember, the whole winter/cold thing) We are very excited to give it a try. He had to do a pretty custom job so we hope it doesn't leak. After 5 or 6 trips to Home Depot, Auto Zone and Fred's Marine, he is confident it will work like a charm. Elliott and I sure hope so. Even May in Lake Mead can bring some chilly evenings. We are all very excited for our trip to Lake Mead this year.

I have decided, the older Elliott gets, a better mom I become. I don't mean good mom like she knows her ABC's and she eats 5 servings of Fruit and Veggies a day and only organic (props to you moms, btw) but I am becoming less crazy. The baby stage freaking freaks me out! I feel like I can be more flexible, and have a little more freedom. She is becoming more independent, and is becoming a lot of fun. Josh I love to just sit and watch her figure things out. She tried to eat my toes the other night, she puts things (mostly iPod Cords) around her neck like a necklace, she loves her black velvet shoes the best, and can pick them out of her shoe basket, she likes to push the shopping cart at the store (which only her dad lets her do), and she loves to type on the keyboard and use the mouse. What can I say, she is a genius!

Boat Show 2012 and Our Trip to Vegas

Last week we made our annual trip to the Boat Show. This was the first year Josh didn't go with friends, instead he got stuck with his wife and baby. :) I think it was ok. We weren't sure if Elliott would remember the boat, so we put her in one just like ours to make sure. Yep, she remembered, especially the drivers seat where all the buttons are. She thought it was great, and seemed at home. I take this as a good sign. Another reason to look forward to Summer! We found out at the Boat Show that there is going to be a ski lake community about 2 miles from our house. It would be an absolute dream for us to live on a lake, especially a ski lake. We got the info, but I think this will continue to be a dream...home lots are a little out of our price range. :) Maybe one day.

Friday we packed up and headed to Sunny Las Vegas. We had planned going to visit the Johnson's President's Day Weekend, but Jill called and needed a babysitter for the weekend before. We obliged, and went a week early. To start off, I don't know how Jill does it! 5 kids was enough to put me in the crazy house! The weekend was sure busy, but we had a lot of fun. I wish we could have stayed a little longer, and maybe got to spend some time with Jill and Aaron. Thanks for letting us visit, Jill! Now Josh and I get a weekend away while you watch 6 kids, right? :)

Elliott did great on the drive. She loved playing with all the kids. and was in Heaven with Gracie at her beck and call.

Here is Elsie screaming "Elliott". They all swear she doesn't normally do this, but I think Aaron taught her this on purpose. :)

Here is Elliott on a trampoline for the first time. Elliott LOVED to be outside. It was like 70 degrees.

Elliott is 1!

I know I'm like a month late, but oh well. Things at our house have been crazy! Elliott is trying to walk, and climbing on everything! We got new furniture a few weeks ago, and Elliott loves it! She loves she can crawl from one end all the way to other and has to play with the pillows along the way.

Besides learning to walk, Elliott is getting bigger. Not in weight so much. At her 1 year appointment, she was in the 1%. The Dr. was a little concerned, due to the fact that she has been consistently about 3%, and this dip worried her a little. We are doing monthly weight checks until we can her weight back up. Until then, Elliott is on a High Fat diet, which is great for Elliott, but so great for mom, considering I have to finish whatever she doesn't...

Our Ward recently split, and we are so sad! We lost of bunch of good friends, but I am sure will gain a whole bunch more. Josh got called as the new Young Men's President. He will do a wonderful job, I know it. Josh is great with the youth.

I am extremely busy with work, housework and Elliott, but I love every minute of it. Hopefully I will start to slow down at work a little.

Elliott had a wonderful birthday, and got really spoiled from everyone. Thank you all for coming up and spending the evening with E on her big day. We love you all so much!

We had a Poop/tub incident. One of the funniest and most disgusting moments of my life, and Josh too. He was so grossed out, and couldn't believe his life had to come to straining poop out of the the bathtub. We laughed so hard the whole time, and hours after. Elliott didn't care, she got to play in the sink!

Elliott's FIrst Christmas

Elliott didn't have the best Christmas...the poor thing caught the flu on Christmas Eve morning. Thankfully she was still her happy self, just minus any food or drink. :(

Chrstimas Eve jammies:

Santa made it to our house, and brought Elliott this wonderful piano. She LOVES it!

Here is Elliott in action on the piano:

My kind of Breakfast

This is how I found Elliott this morning, no hands and all. She found the leftover Halloween candy (It is a Hershey Bar). Her Nunn would be so proud.
